Rama—Dr. Frederick Lenz was a contemporary Buddha (enlightened one) who taught over 100,000 people how to meditate. Throughout his 20+ years of teaching, he also inspired with his fearlessness, entertained with his humor, and educated meditation students in his unique blend of Eastern mysticism and American pragmatism. His teachings, called American Buddhism, have helped thousands to discover the best in themselves and others.

Because he was an enlightened master, Rama was able to transmit enlightened states of mind to those who meditated with him. Seeing gold light around Rama while he meditated was as common to those who meditated with him as seeing green grass is in the spring.

After an amazingly full and varied life, Rama achieved his Mahasamadhi (left his body) on April 12, 1998. Yet enlightened teachers never really go away; they remain for all who call upon their compassion and their love.
